Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation is devoted to care for and work on Islamic manuscripts to achieve the following aims:

To identify and describe existing collections of Islamic manuscripts in various parts of the world. - Promote, sponsor and initiate research into the field of Islamic manuscripts.
- Assist in the preservation and restoration of Islamic manuscripts.
- Assist in cataloguing previously uncatalogued collections of Islamic manuscripts.
- Establish a visual record of the manuscripts and build up an archive of these records at the Foundation’s premises. This archive will operate along the most modern and efficient line in information storage and retrieval.
- Edit and publish Islamic manuscripts of particular scientific or historical significance.
The Foundation realises these strategic aims through:
- Surveying of Islamic manuscript collections.
- Cataloguing Islamic manuscript collections.
- Imaging individual Islamic manuscripts or manuscript collection.
- Publishing critical editions of important texts.
- Running courses on various aspects of Islamc manuscripts.
The Foundation promotes its work and its interests in Islamic culture generally through:
- Public lectures and events
- Academic seminars and conference
- Public exhibitions
- Community activities
The Foundation has built up a Library as a source for students, reseachers and scholars of Islamic culture and civilisation. It holds a mangnificent collection of catalogues of Islamic manuscripts.
The Foundation organises training courses for cataloguers. It has set up an award for scholarly achievement in the field of Islamic manuscripts.
