Cataloguing and Editing

The Foundation has continued to bring more un-catalogued collections of Islamic manuscripts into its cataloguing project. It places particular emphasis on areas where Islamic MSS are endagered and the resources to take remedial steps are lacking.

The Foundation’s first target was Albania where the two main collections are at the National Archives and the National Library of Albania. The Foundation has published the collections under the title Catalogue of Islamic Manuscripts in the National Library of Albania, Tirana.

The Foundation, then, continued with publishing other collections in Bulgaria, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria and other countries.

Its most monumental cataloguing project to date is the Catalogue of Arabic, Turkish, Persian and Bosnian Manuscrips in the Ghazi Husrev-Bey Library in Sarajevo. Sixteen volumes have so far been published.
