Summary
More than 10,000 codices in Arabic, Turkish, Persian and Bosnian languages are hosted at Ghāzī Husrev-Bey Library, where 9,381 of them have been catalogued. Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation has been supporting this project since 1998, and has funded the publication of volumes 4-18, as well as volumes 1 and 2 in their second editions.
This manuscripts’ collection is large and diverse and covers a vast array of topics on Islamic sciences and other disciplines, such as mathematics, grammar, poetry and literature in the above mentioned languages.
The collection contains valuable, rare and unique manuscripts, collected from other libraries, religious high schools madrasas, mosques and Sufi lodges teki from different cities and villages all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and its neighbouring countries.
