Summary

The important contribution this book brings is in it being set in a turbulent time for the cities of al-Quds (Jerusalem) and al-Khalīl (Hebron), during the period between 1663 A.D. (1075 A.H.) – 1714 A.D. (1126 A.H.). It details the changes that happened on the ground and their effects on the Jerusalem Mosque of al-Masjid al-Aqṣā (the Dome of the Rock), the Abrahamic Mosque and the Prophets’ holy places due to the confiscation of the awqāf (trusts) associated with these locations. The book also details the renovation work carried out by the minister Rajab Pasha during his time in office, which saw the restriction of the awqāf. It also details the conservation work carried out by Christians on churches and water conduits in order to supply water to the inhabitants of al-Quds and to the Masjid al-Aqṣā. The book also describes the security situation in the city of al-Quds.All Products
