On 18th-19th of November 1995, Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation organised its third conference, on the topic of"The Conservation and Preservation of Islamic Manuscripts".
The conference included papers on the methods and practices used in the sphere of preservation and conservation, the problems faced by workers in this field and the likely solutions to these issues.
The conference also brought to light new trends in preventive conservation, the usefulness of an international database to store information of the world’s rare manuscripts and the creation of a new network between specialist institutions.
