Memorandum of Understanding and Co-operation between Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation and the Imam Bukhari International Scientific-Research Center (under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan)
In the margins of the International Conference entitled “Light from the depths of centuries”, which took place at the Imam Bukhari Center at Khoja Ismail town in Samarkand, on 25thAugust 2019, and which was part of the several activities within the Cultural Heritage Week “Uzbekistan – crossroads of roads and civilizations: empires, religions, cultures”, Mr Sali Shahsivari, Managing Director of Al-Furqān, and Dr Shovosil Ziyodov, Director of theImam Bukhari International Scientific-Research Center, signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Co-operation between their respective institutions.
The Memorandum stipulated collaboration and exchange of scientific experiences in the area of preserving Islamic heritage, particularly the written heritage, through cataloguing, critical editing, publishing, researching the means to protect and preserve heritage, and employing all means to raise the level of civilizational awareness of workers in these domains, as well as co-operating jointly in organising conferences, seminars, and training courses in the different fields relating to heritage, and the exchange of various scientific publications; each party also agreed to invite the other to its conferences and seminars.
