
The Managing Director of Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation, Mr Sali Shahsivari, participated in a roundtable under the title "Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage in a Global Context", which took place at Sotheby’s Auction House on Monday 7th Jul 2025, and at Christie’s Auction House on Tuesday 8th Jul 2025.
The roundtable was organised by the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, in cooperation with Sotheby’s and Christie’s Auction Houses respectively, and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in London.
The Managing Director of Al-Furqan, Mr Shahsivari, was honoured to deliver a speech within the roundtable at Sotheby’s Auction House, focusing on the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, and the role that this heritage has played in shaping the human civilisation, including the one that we see today.
At the margins of the two roundtables, the participants were given an exclusive viewing of exceptional artefacts from the collection of the Center of Islamic Civilization, recently acquired through Sotheby’s and Christie’s.
The Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent will open its doors soon, with the aim of becoming a new cultural beacon in the region.
