On Thursday 07 September 2023, the Managing Director of Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation, Mr Sali Shahsivari, accompanied by members of Al-Furqān's working team, welcomed at the Foundation's headquarters in London Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Director General of the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA).
The host and guest briefed each other with latest developments at their respective institutions.
Al-Furqān and IRCICA had cooperated on projects of mutual interest in the past, and Mr Shahsivari and Dr. Kılıç discussed ways to further cooperation between their institutions.
In addition to promising to continue the practice of book exchange between Al-Furqān and IRCICA, the two sides discussed the possibility of hosting joint events on manuscripts in the near future.
Al-Furqān’s Managing Director and IRCICA’s Director General exchanged symbolic gifts, and the occasion was marked by taking photographs.
Mr Shahsivari had visited Dr. Kılıç at IRCICA’s office in Istanbul late 2021, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, member of the Board of Directors of the Al-Furqan Foundation, and Mr. Mohamed Drioueche, who is responsible for Projects and Publications at the Foundation.
