Summary
“The Bibliography for Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah” (objectives of Islamic law) is a comprehensive reference manual and a historical documentation of what has been written in the field of maqāṣid. It identifies and collates the cumulative research produced over the course of history in the field since the 3rd century of the Islamic calendar. The work was conducted by Prof. Muhammad Kamal Imam. It includes all the madhabs (juridical schools of law) and the Islamic schools of thought. It also includes a variety of references (manuscripts, university theses, conference proceedings and contemporary studies) that appear in a number of countries and in several languages. The bibliography is made up of 10 volumes, each listing hundreds of entries.
