Summary
This catalogue holds 1000 manuscripts which date back to the period between the sixteenth and twentieth century.
Most of the manuscripts listed in the catalogue were written in the Arabic language, others were written in African languages such as Hausa, Fulani, and Berber. A number of these manuscripts were authored by Arab scholars – from both the Maghreb and the Arab East – and included a number of contemporary scholars of these lands.
The subjects featured in the manuscripts are tawḥīd, the sciences of the Qurʾān, fiqh, language, Sufism, grammar and invocations.
