This catalogue lists 422 manuscripts which are in Ibadan’s University Library, Nigeria. It brings to the fore the role played by two great scholars ʿUthman Dan Fodio and his brother ʿAbd Allah Fodio, who were of the revivers of Islam in Africa.
The majority of subjects of the catalogue revolve around science and religion such as manuscripts of the Qurʾān and its sciences, uniqueness of God, creed, jurisprudence and its sources/fundamentals, grammar and language, the biography of the Prophet, prises of the Prophet and invocations.
