Summary

This book includes a number of research and studies that were presented during a research symposium to discuss the topic of violence and terrorism that have been attributed to Islam in its various aspects. The symposium included papers and research studies on the roots of terrorism, its various forms and remedies, by addressing topics such as the ideological roots of Salafism; a precise classification of the Islamic movements and their relationship to violence; the Egyptian violent groups associated with Islam; the Islamic political violence in Maghreb in the last quarter century; as well as the terrorism and its repercussions in the global arena.
