This course was organised by Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation in co-operation with the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, and was aimed primarily at specialists working in Europe.

Two theoretical weeks of the course were conducted at Eagle House, and the three weeks of practical cataloguing work in the Library at SOAS, where the manuscript collection of the School of Oriental and African Studies was placed at the disposal of the course members.
The course was attended by 17 participants from different countries and institutions around the world.
Visits were made to the British Library, the National Art Library at the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, and the Welcome Institute for the History of Medicine.
