The pivotal theme of this lecture was the mystical orientation that characterises the poetry and thoughts of the Pakistani Muslim philosopher and poet, Muhammad Iqbal, who, according to Professor Schimmel, discovered the secrets of creative love through Sufism and considered this kind of love to be the main vehicle towards the creation of moral values, changing thus human being’s nature incessantly.
