Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation was established on 19th December 1988, in London, by the Yamani Cultural and Charitable Foundation, initially with the aim to document and preserve the Islamic written heritage, principally through its work in surveying, cataloguing, editing, studying and publishing Islamic manuscripts. With time, its scope of activity has expanded and it has become an umbrella Foundation consisting of three centres: the Manuscript Centre, the Maqasid Centre and the Makkah & Madinah Centre.
