"Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - the Foundation of the New Renaissance"

Participation of the Managing Director of Al-Furqan, Mr Sali Shahsivari, in the 6th International Congress under the title "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - the Foundation of the New Renaissance"

At the invitation of Mr Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Chairperson of the Board of World Scientific Society for Study, Conservation and Promotion of Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage, the Managing Director of Al-Furqan, Mr Sali Shahsivari participated in the 6th International Congress under the title "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - the Foundation of the New Renaissance", under the aegis of UNESCO, which took place on July 22 and 23, 2022, in Samarkand.

On July 22, an international scientific conference "The cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the focus of modern science" was held at the Palace of Youth Creativity in Samarkand. It was held on the eve of the VI International Congress of the World Society "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan - the basis of a new Renaissance".

On July 23, the grand opening of the VI International Congress "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan is the basis of the new Renaissance" took place at the Palace of Youth Creativity in Samarkand. 

More than 250 world-renowned oriental scientists from 35 countries participated in the works of the Congress, including 33 directors of well known  international museums and libraries, 15 directors of national museums, representatives of international organisations, presidents of academies of sciences, professors, art scientists, analysts and followers of national and international mass media, etc.

The central event of the Congress was the presentation of 10 new books-albums in the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan at World Assemblies (51-60 volumes), which is a result of the continuous work of scientists who dedicated their lives to the study of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.

The Managing Director of Al-Furqan, Mr Shahsivari, was honoured to deliver a presentation at the opening ceremony of the Congress, under the title “Cultural heritage as a factor of sustainable development and inter-ethnic dialog”.

More than 100 presentations by famous oriental scientists from more than 35 countries around the world dedicated to the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries were heard.

The event was organised by the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, together  with national and international partners.

The national partners were: the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abu Raihan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies, UNESCO National Commission, the Centre of the Islamic Civilization, the State Airline "Uzbekistan Airways", publishing house "Zamon Press Info", and the Samarkand region.

The international partners were: ICESCO, ICCN, the Research Centre for Islamic History, Arts and Culture – IRCICA (Turkey), ID “Mueller & Schindler” (Austria), Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation (UK), and others.

The general sponsor and organiser of the Conference and the Congress was the Eriell Group, which has been supporting the project since its inception.

At the end of this Congress, the Managing Director of Al-Furqan, Mr Sali Shahsivari, and Mr Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Chairperson of the Board of World Scientific Society for Study, Conservation and Promotion of Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage, had a long meeting, where they exchanged ideas and explored ways for furthering the cooperation between the two institutions on different areas of mutual interest.
