On Monday 26 June 2023, the Managing Director of Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation, Mr Sali Shahsivari, accompanied by Mr Mamoon Alabbasi, in charge of Outreach & Events, and the rest of the working team at Al-Furqān, welcomed Dr Mehmet Karakuş, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute (the Turkish Cultural Centre in London), and Ömer Faruk Yeni, Project Director at Ketebe Publishing House in Istanbul.
Dr Karakuş and Mr Yeni briefed Mr Shahsivari with the work of their respective organisations.
In turn, the Managing Director of Al-Furqān gave the two guests an overview of the role played by the Foundation.
Mr Shahsivari and Dr Karakuş discussed possible areas of cooperation between Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation and the Yunus Emre Institute. These include taking part in joint projects and events, as well as exchanging publications and library books.
Meanwhile, Mr Shahsivari and Mr Yeni discussed possible areas of cooperation between Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation and Ketebe Publishing House. These include the potential of Ketebe translating and publishing the Turkish versions of some of Al-Furqān Foundation’s books. Mr Shahsivari gave the guests a tour of the headquarters of the Foundation, showing them some of its publications and displays. He exchanged symbolic gifts with the two guests, and the occasion was marked by taking photographs.
