Co-operation between Al-Furqan and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Tunisia
After the successful organisation of the symposium on “The Activation of the Objectives of Sharīʿah in the Political Sphere”, organised jointly by Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation - Centre for the Study of the Philosophy of Islamic Law, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Tunisia and the International Union of Muslim Scholars - the Tunisia Branch, which took place on the 25th and 26th of May 2013, at Hotel Afrika in Tunis, Tunisia, the following day, the Minister for Religious Affairs of Tunisia, Dr Nour al-Din al-Khadimi, invited the Managing Director of Al-Furqān, Mr. Sali Shahsivari, for a working meeting, in order to discuss the future co-operation between the two institutions. Both parties agreed to intensify the co-operation in the sphere of maqāṣid, by organising joint symposia and training courses in this field.
The meeting took place at the Minister’s cabinet and was attended by Mr. Kamal al-Sid, Special Advisor to the Minister, Mr. Mohamed Drioueche, Head of the Projects & Publications Department at Al-Furqān, as well as Dr Ibrahim al-Bayoumi Ghanem and Dr Hasan Jaber, both members of the Advisory Board of Al-Furqān’s Centre for the Study of the Philosophy of Islamic Law.
