We are happy to announce that our book "The Secrets of Creative Love: The Work of Muhammad Iqbal", by the late Annemarie Schimmel, an influential German scholar of Islamic studies, has been translated into and published in the Turkish language.
The Turkish translation was published by Ketebe publications on 1st March 2026. The original English edition was published with an Arabic translation in one volume by Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation in 1998. The book is based on a lecture delivered by Schimmel at the headquarters of the Foundation in London in the year 1996.
This book focuses on the Sūfi aspects in the poetry of the Muslim philosopher and poet Muḥammad Iqbāl. Annemarie Schimmel discusses Iqbāl’s writings on the secrets of divine love, that is to say on the foundations of Sufism, a route to spiritual clarity and the pinnacle of spiritual development. Divine love in the eyes of Iqbāl is a rare experience, a momentous elevation in the journey of life and the highest manifestation of virtue.
