The initial aim of al-Furqan Foundation was to document and preserve the Islamic written heritage, principally focusing on the cataloguing, surveying, editing and publishing of Islamic manuscripts. However, the involvement of scholars, the general public and institutions became an essential component in the activities of al-Furqan, due to the need to inform the demanding users of the Foundation, about the results, findings and methods of its work.
